Anglesey County Council have identified a site near the Garnedd in Llanfair that could possibly used to develop affordable housing for local people. The Rural Housing Enabler’s are holding a review to identify if there is a need for affordable housing in the area and what type of houses local people need. Rural Housing Enablers (RHEs) are independent experts working in rural communities in Wales identifying housing and other needs supporting the delivery of homes for local people. Rural Housing Enablers (RHE) work with and on behalf of rural communities in many areas of Wales to address the shortage of affordable homes. Rural Housing Enablers currently operate in North West Wales and in Brecon. Nine Partners are currently supporting the Rural Housing Enabler’s work in North West Wales to cover the counties of Gwynedd, Anglesey, Conwy and North Powys.

A Guide to Developing Affordable Homes in Rural Communities is the updated Rural Housing Protocol and is a series of factsheets that sets out the pathway to enable affordable rural housing development; it offers guidance about the finance, who can and should be involved and expels the myths around who is allocated affordable rural homes.
